Effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on the Growth and Yield of Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica L. Beauv)

چکیده

The use of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) is a sustainable way for efficient absorption and utilization nutrients by crop species to enhance growth yield persistence against biotic abiotic stresses. However, the PGPRs in drought tolerant crops such as foxtail millet limited because low adaptability moisture conditions. In this study, acclimatised conditions, were isolated from rhizosphere sorghum their promoting effect on was studied. Four isolates, Pseudomonas putida, Bacillus subtilis, cereus, Pantoea Stewart cultivated black soils. Further identity confirmed sequencing 16S rDNA.
Foxtail seeds inoculated with newly PGPR strains evaluated shoot root under greenhouse Effect related traits ear-head weight, grain fodder length assessed field Newly boosted average when cereus (19.33 cm) putida (28.66 cm), respectively. On other hand, among four bacterial cultures, subtilis enhanced weight (40.42%), (30.19%), (49.72%) (42.56%) compared control group When considered collectively, empirical evidence suggests that can improve

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Chinese Foxtail Millet [Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.] Landraces

As an ancient cereal of great importance for dryland agriculture even today, foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is fast becoming a new plant genomic model crop. A genotypic analysis of 250 foxtail millet landraces, which represent 1% of foxtail millet germplasm kept in the Chinese National Gene Bank (CNGB), was conducted with 77 SSRs covering the foxtail millet genome. A high degree of molecular ...

Grain Yield and Quality of Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica L.) in Response to Tribenuron-Methyl

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.) is cultivated around the world for human and animal consumption. There is no suitable herbicide available for weed control in foxtail millet fields during the post-emergence stage. In this study, we investigated the effect and safety of the post-emergence herbicide tribenuron-methyl (TBM) on foxtail millet in terms of grain yield and quality using a split-plo...

Bioinformatic analysis of the nucleotide binding site-encoding disease-resistance genes in foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.).

The nucleotide-binding site (NBS) disease-resistance genes are the largest category of plant disease-resistance gene analogs. The complete set of disease-resistant candidate genes, which encode the NBS sequence, was filtered in the genomes of two varieties of foxtail millet (Yugu1 and 'Zhang gu'). This study investigated a number of characteristics of the putative NBS genes, such as structural ...

The C-terminal motif of SiAGO1b is required for the regulation of growth, development and stress responses in foxtail millet (<i>Setaria italica</i> (L.) P. Beauv)

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) P. Beauv), which belongs to the Panicoideae tribe of the Poaceae, is an important grain crop widely grown in Northern China and India. It is currently developing into a novel model species for functional genomics of the Panicoideae as a result of its fully available reference genome sequence, small diploid genome (2n=18, ~510 Mb), short life cycle, small sta...

Genetic structure of landraces in foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) P. Beauv.) revealed with transposon display and interpretation to crop evolution of foxtail millet.

Although the origin and domestication process of foxtail millet (Setaria italica subsp. italica (L.) P. Beauv.) has been studied by several groups, the issue is still ambiguous. It is essential to resolve this issue by studying a large number of accessions with sufficient markers covering the entire genome. Genetic structures were analyzed by transposon display (TD) using 425 accessions of foxt...
